Matty Healy of The 1975 Calls Out Paid Meet & Greets

Matty Healy of The 1975 voiced his opinion of paid meet and greets on the Zane Lowe show. The verdict is that he hates them!

He makes such a good point that there's more than just the cost of the ticket when it comes to concerts, including your time spent listening which ultimately becomes more money in streaming royalties for the artist. Personally, I'll add in the cost of gas or Uber, a hotel if it's out of town, food and drinks (even if it's just water).

Matty was kind enough to come to the fence way back when at The Big Ticket in 2013 to come and meet me and my friends.

One of my long time favorite bands, The Maine, are also against paid meet and greets. They even responded to the TikTok showing off their amazing banner from tours - "Why would you pay to meet a human being?"

Because of their views, I have actually been able to meet members of The Maine during a couple of Warped Tour runs.

This whole scenario gives me "If he wanted to, he would" vibes, lol.
