News broke this week that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth ended their engagement, although their reps wouldn’t give any more information on what happened.
But E! News’ Ken Baker has the dish and he called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to explain what went down between the couple.
“What I was told with no questions about it is Miley, at the end of the day, she did decide to pull the plug. They both had been trying to make it work and she just decided she couldn’t do it anymore … They definitely lost trust. Miley’s been traveling, focusing on her music.”
Even before she split from Liam, Miley has been exhibiting “free” behavior, or as Ken puts it: “Like she says in ‘We Can’t Stop,’ ‘I wanna do what I want to.’ It’s truly a personal biographical anthem for her right now.”
Ken also suggests Miley’s young age played a role in the split. When she met Liam on The Last Song, she was only 16 … and she’s about to turn 21 in a few weeks.
“You go from a kid to an adult and she’s gone through that transition and she was able to maintain that relationship fot quite some time. They just couldn’t sustain it.”
