Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is putting his interview skills to good use.
He’s sitting down with NBA pro Kobe Bryant for a one-on-one conversation, which benefits Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular and the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation.
Dubbed Kobe Up Close, the special will give fans an exclusive opportunity to witness an entertaining chat with the Los Angeles Lakers’ five-time champion about his past, present, and future in the NBA, while also sharing some of his favorite stories.
“It’s for charity and we’re just going to talk for an hour,” Kimmel adds. “I’m going to ask him a lot of questions and people in the audience will ask questions and we are going to learn about this man we all love so much.”
And when he’s not interviewing, Kimmel is playing the role of newlywed. The 45-year-old recently married Molly McNearney, who also works as a head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
So how have things changed now that the co-workers are married?
“It’s a little bit uncomfortable when I bring women home, but other than that it’s pretty much the same,” Kimmel jokes. “We were living together beforehand.”
Jimmy continues his jokes, adding: “We work together … it is sometimes [weird]. And I make her call me her ‘husboss’…I tell her, ‘Listen, at work yes, I’m the boss. But at home, I’m also the boss.’”
