Tom Cruise may be a busy action star, but he still has plenty of time for family, especially his daughter Suri.
The ”Oblivion” actor phoned in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Wednesday morning to talk about his latest movie and revealed he’s already done all of the birthday planning for his little girl.
With Suri turning 7-years-old tomorrow, Tom revealed he’s finished his shopping and prepping. “Done already. All done. I take care of the kids early. You’ll know, you have to plan ahead for these things. It’s all done and all celebrated.”
So does Tom, who currently looks like he’s been aging backwards, indulge in a cupcake or two? “Oh yeah,” he admitted. “I’ll eat cake, cupcakes. I eat all that stuff.”
On top of racking up points for father of the year, Tom’s been busy taking on his latest epic film. He explains that “Oblivion” is a “kind of story I haven’t made since ‘Minority Report’ where you have this drama, thriller, sci-fi but sci-fi today is like the old westerns where at that time where their at the height of westerns in cinema they were able to take audiences to places they’ve never seen and now today with sci-fi we can create this cool world with technology but also give them a very human story within that.”
Tom also touched upon the amazing imagery in the movie. “There’s no green screen in the sky tower…what he did was he went to the top of a mountain in Hawaii and for weeks he recorded sunrises and sunsets, cloud formations, and then what we did on the set was we had massive screens all around and he projected those images onto the screens … it was the most peaceful, beautiful set I’ve ever been on. You felt like you were in the clouds.”
Be sure to catch “Oblivion” in theaters on April 19th.
