Actor and animal activist Rob Lowe phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat lending his voice to Dawn’s online documentary, The Big Picture, as well as how his two boys keep him young.
When asked how the 49-year-old looks as if he never ages, the actor laughs, “I’d like to think it’s my spirit [and] having two young sons, who kick my butt regularly.”
The father of two shares: ”I spend a ton of time with them and that’s the only workout you really need.” He also gets in his dad-son time when out on the water with his boys. “I think I’m really lucky and blessed because I have a great relationship with them,” Rob admits. “There isn’t anything we don’t talk about.”
Like father like sons, Rob says his boys have inherited his good looks and charm. “The oldest one, who is a freshman in college, already…has a girlfriend…and my young one, who is going to be a senior in high school, is really the ladies’ one, like I have to push a leash on him.”
And when he’s not spending time with his boys you can find Rob in the ocean. So when Dawn asked him to voice their online documentary, what did Rob think?
“I love the environment. I’m in the water all the time. I surf, I scuba dive, I spear fish and I do it with my boys, so when the folks at Dawn came to me to help lend my name to their 40-year commitment to wildlife preservation, I thought it’d be a really cool thing to do.”
“The documentary is amazing,” he adds. “Each one focuses on a different set of animals. Their trials and tribulations and the volunteers who help them.”
So what are some things people can do in their day-to-day lives to help preserve the animals and environment?
Rob explains it’s as easy as not changing your own oil at home and not using plastic bags at the market.
