The royal baby officially arrived on Monday!
And now the question everybody is dying to know is what’s the little one’s name?
Today show correspondent Natalie Morales phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to share what we know as of now regarding Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s baby boy.
Natalie explains that after 10 hours in labor, Kate delivered a healthy baby boy, yet we still aren’t aware of the child’s name. So when will the palace be revealing it?
“They did say they will be taking a little bit of time because choosing a royal name comes with a lot of heritage and tradition,” the co-host shared. “You want to make sure you pick a name that doesn’t have a negative association with past monarchs. With William, Diana took about a week and prior to that, the Queen took a whole month.”
Natalie also revealed she believes Kate and William will debut their baby boy in the same fashion Princess Diana and Prince Charles did, by displaying their bundle of joy in front of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital.
“I think that’s certainly the expectation. They’re thoroughly modern royals … so I would imagine they’re going to come out and present the baby to the world. That seems to be what the Palace has been indicating to us all along.”
