Jennifer Lopez stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat about her new single with Pitbull, “Live It Up,” as well as explain what was behind that revealing Britain’s Got Talent ensemble that caused a bit of controversy … and whether she will return to American Idol or not!
Jennifer revealed her single with Pitbull came about earlier than she expected to put out new music. “It’s funny, I didn’t expect to have a record out this soon,” she shared. “I just got off tour … and I went right back in the studio.”
“I was really inspired from performing and singing all the time,” J.Lo continued. “I was like, ‘I just want to make more music,’ and then Pit got on this record after the Grammys and then the record company was like, ‘We have to put this out for the summer.’ And I was like, ‘Wow wait, OK, yes I’m happy about that.’ But now it’s about getting the record together, but I still have till November, so I have plenty of time.”
And with her new single has come a new video and a new look, which she wore both at the Billboard Music Awards and again, in black, on Britain’s Got Talent, and for some reason that look got flack for being a bit too revealing. So what’s Jennifer have to say about the revealing look?
“I wore it in red on the Billboard Awards, same exact outfit!” she explained. “You can put them side by side … and it’s so funny because here, no big deal, and then there … for some reason, scandal! … I had worn it in the video and the video was just coming out, so I kind of wanted to tie the performance and song together.”
And new music aside, we had to ask, what about her future with American Idol?!
“I don’t know what’s happening over there,” Jennifer admitted. “I don’t know. We will see. I’m always open to the infinite possibilities that the universe has to offer. So you never know.”
“I was emotional about [leaving]. I just had such a good time there. It fit … I felt like family [and] I get emotionally attached.”
Guess only time will tell!
